Law Classes

Law Class 2026 dates are January 21, February 18, March 18, April 15, May 20, June 24, July 15, August 12, September 16, October 21, and November 18. 

MFDEA provides a review class designed to help prepare prospective funeral directors for the Missouri Funeral Service Law Exam Test. This Law Test covers funeral directing laws, licensing, embalming, preneed sales, OSHA requirements and FTC rules. 

This Law Exam Review is extremely popular. Participants have a higher success rate of passing on the first take than non-participants.

  • Fee includes course materials, lunch, and coffee, coke, diet coke, and water.
  • Classes fill up quickly so register as early as possible, and no later than one week before the class date. 
  • A maximum of 12 seats are available and a minimum of 5 is required.
  • Payment is due at time of registration. 
  • If you need to cancel, please notify us as soon as possible. There is a waiting list for most dates. No show or notification, no refund. 
  • Classes begin at 9:00 am and finish at 5:00 pm.
  • Location is the MFDEA office in Jefferson City, MO.
Law Class Review - $195.00, register online.


Law Class Refresher - Licensed funeral directors only, $75.00. License number required.


Law Class Retake - $25, register by calling 573-635-1661.

If you need to cancel, please notify us as soon as possible. There is typically a waiting list. No show or notification, no refund. 


In rare situations, typically winter weather, we may need to cancel the class. We will notify you with the option to transfer to an alternate date.
